Tehdaskartanonkatu will be moved, a new cycling and walking connection will be opened

Hiedanranta’s first residential blocks are being prepared by building municipal engineering and moving the Tehdaskartanonkatu line. The work starting at the beginning of July will cause construction site traffic and temporary arrangements. In the same area, a pedestrian connection will be opened on the south side of the factory to facilitate access.

In Hiedanranta, the construction of street foundations, water supply and other municipal technology begins in the area of the first residential blocks. The street contract includes the implementation of the future new Kuivaamonkatu and the partially moved Tehdaskartanonkatu street structures from the future parking facility across the tramway to the Lielahti estate. The street structures will be completed in the contract, except for the final asphalt surface and stonework, which will only be carried out in the estimated years of 2025 and 2026, in stages after the house construction works in the area have been completed.

Excavators and trucks are moving in the area during the work. Temporary traffic arrangements will be announced separately, as well as possible water outages. The parking spaces in front of Hiertämö will be closed before the start of the work. It is a joint construction project in which Hiedanrannan Kehitys Oy, Tampereen Vesi Liikelaitos, Tampereen Sähköverkko Oy and Tampereen Sähkölaitos Oy are the clients. The main contractor is Turtolan Kaivin Oy.

The job starts at the beginning of July. As for the contract, the work will be completed in the spring of 2024, and the final surface structures of the streets in the block area will be realized during the fall of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. Construction of the first apartments will begin in the summer of 2024.

On the south side of the factory, a new connection for cycling and walking will be opened at the beginning of July with a separate agreement. The solution serves especially those moving between Paasikiventie and Niemenranta and those arriving from the direction of Paasikiventie to the Lielahti manor area. The contractor for the connection is also Turtolan Kaivin Oy and the customer is Hiedanrannan Kehitys Oy.
